The Flirt of the Muse

Lately, I've had an inkling. Several inklings. Each inkling is in a totally different area. Right now I know a little about each inkling. Enough to know that they are interesting but not enough to make a proper start. It's really starting to get on my nerves.

So while battling my fits of indecision, I'm made made tremendous progress finishing old games I never finished. The most recent is Balder's Gate. Not the new sequel, but the original. Exciting, not really but it's something.

I'm also on another chess kick. Been messing with ChessMaster 7000. It's actually improved from the many previous versions, this time offering more fleshed out personalities to play against. There's a wide variety of them, with varying skills. You can play against unskilled or skilled of any age, gender. Each has a small portrain and quick summary of their playing style. It makes playing against the machine a bit more fun. Of course, getting beat my Tommy the red headed 10 year old punk is actually more annoying. Every game has its' good and bad.

Bang, that's all for now. -Jeff

Weekend Wundabar!

Haven't been feelin too awful wordy lately. No worries just a bit mind tired I expect. So the short of it:

Went to Kansas City RenFair. It was cool, there was a pickle guy, they had drums and mead, there were cute women dressed as fairies, there was a parade and some nice rain. I'd definately go again sometime.

Met some new people, and met some old people. They were cool, I'd definately drink with em again some time.

Had the most expensive steak I've ever purchased. It was tasty, however not the penultimate. I'll definately pay less next time I get a steak.

Got back home, it was cool, I'll definatley get back home again sometime.

Also had a completely bizarre dream but it is so scattered I'm not gonna write it down. It had dracula, Eddie Murphy, a dream within a dream, travelling thru towns, danger, monsters, cats, friends and other stuff. I'll definately dream again but hopefully not the same one.

That is all, you may return to your regularly scheduled program. -Jeff

Return from the Universe of Slow

DSL is live, hooked up and working. I feel like I can breathe again.

Haven't been much for philosophy lately. Weirdest thing in my life: The house prefers me to awake earlier than I used to. I just tend to wake up without an alarm round 8:30 to 9:30. Gives me time to relax before work so can't really complain. Still not unpacked and maybe I never will be. I am a spartan at heart. A computer geeky comfort seeking spartan, but still a spartan! Now if I can just adopt a life of keeping my place clean, I shall arise to the next level.

Tivo let us down the other night. It recorded Yojimbo as we requested. But it cut off after 2 hours thinking the show was over, but it was just getting to the big finish! Moan!!

Tis time to hunt the evenings entertainment. Ta!

Thanksgiving

It is time to be thankful. Thankful for friends. Thankful for family. Thankful for the ability to read the sign that says 'Pile of Poo' and thankful for the wisdom not to step in it.

Note: This post has been cleaned and polished for all those readers younger than 14th season. Love and Peace!

It is Done

The apartment is clean and the keys are turned in. It's only taken me three days to recover and soak up enough ganas to mention it. Of course, now there is the unpacking...

Frito Pie. All you need is fritos, chili and cheese. Heat em up, stir em up and add more fritos to match your desired crunchiness. Scrumptious! You can get the fast food version at Sonic. Only drawback to frito pie is that sadly, I am getting older and most canned chili will totally kick my ass. I still eat it occasionnally but I always pay for it that evening. For a variation on the theme, Taco Bell sometimes has the Frito Burrito (*chili cheese and fritos in a flour tortilla). :)

Onwards!
